Hola!

I'm Andrea Cira, a paper artist and illustrator from Mexico, based in Kansas City. I create dimensional artwork with cut paper, inspired by my culture, its vibrant colors, traditions, and the stories that surround me. I value the process of creating something with my own hands and working with traditional materials like paper—a simple and accessible material that can be transformed into almost anything you can imagine.

Growing up in Mexico, I was surrounded by handmade crafts and objects that carried a sense of care, time, and tradition. This connection to craftsmanship continues to influence my creative process and the way I approach each piece I create.

My creative process begins with sketching ideas and exploring how each concept can become a dimensional artwork. Once the idea is defined, I carefully cut, layer, and assemble paper to create visual compositions.

Alongside my personal art practice, I also create work for clients in editorial, branding, and publishing. My paper illustrations have been used for different projects where storytelling, craftsmanship, and visual impact come together.

Through my art, I hope to share the beauty and possibilities of paper as a medium. I believe creating something by hand is a meaningful and meditative experience, and I hope to inspire others to appreciate the time, care, and creativity behind handmade work.
